There are 20 million children under 6 years, living in poverty, in urban India – at construction sites, on the streets, in the slums. Their parents work for a daily wage, without any benefits from employers or social security from the state or any access to childcare, healthcare and schools. The children, in their most foundational years, suffer neglect, abuse and deprivation from the essentials of developmental care.
A lack of adequate nutrition and proper care has irreversible consequences. Poor nutrition has a negative impact on school enrollment and readiness. Undernourished children are less likely to enroll in school and would drop out, if enrolled. A severe or chronic lack of essential nutrients in childhood impairs language, motor and socio-emotional development.
Early Action developed a model for childcare, for young children of marginalised communities, in the form of day care centres at a place of work, a construction site, or in a settlement, in an urban slum. These Centers are designed to provide group care to children, usually up to 6 years of age, who need care, guidance and supervision away from their home during the day.
The program will provide an integrated package of the following services:
- Daycare Facilities including Sleeping Facilities.
- Early Stimulation for children below 3 years and Pre-school Education for 3 to 6 years old children.
- Supplementary Nutrition.
- Growth Monitoring.
- Health Check-up and Immunization.
All donations made to Early Action are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
We generate the tax certificate within 6 days from the date of contribution made through online donations. Including the courier process it takes 10 days for the exemption certificate to reach you. If you contribute offline it takes 15 to 20 days.
